Hellbound Hellraiser II cover

As you may already heard that Hellraiser is a well known horror series that that began in 1987, and is considered one of the greatest horrors ever created. As for me, I have heard the series a lot of times before, but never seen any of the 9 films released. I’ve picked up the second part, Hellbound: Hellraiser II, yesterday and thought “Great, finally could see whats the big hype”. But when I’ve finally sat down to see it I have found it confusing as hell (pardon the pun)! To be honest I am not sure if it was confusing because I’d never seen the first Hellraiser film or is that the creators are on crack or something.

As for the gruesome scenes in this movie, I could handle watching it but I wasn’t interesting in it ether way. I am more into psychological thrillers more than visual gore, hack-n’-slash style of movies. As you may guess, I am way more into Silence of the Lambs than what I’ve seen of the Hellraiser series, I even find some of the video games I’ve played before are far better (Doom 3 and the first 2 F.E.A.R. Games to name a couple).

Other than it’s confusing story, it wasn’t bad, I wouldn’t go out and find these types of movies all the time, its one of those once in a blue moon things. I’m far more likely to pick an action or a romantic comedy movie over this category.
